General

What is the standard age specification?

Infant: 0 - 1.99, Child: 2 - 11.99, Adult: 12+

Is there any restriction during Ramadan month in the Maldives?

The Maldives, being an Islamic country, follows common religious traditions and rules during the Holy month of Ramadan. This is valid mainly for inhabited local islands and the capital city Male. Tourist resorts do not apply any restrictions in services during Ramadan.

Should I give any tips to the staff?

A service charge of 10 percent is added to restaurant bills. An extra 5 percent in cash given to the main server is appreciated but not expected. Housekeeping staff could be rewarded with USD 5 per day per guest, and porters with USD 5 on arrival and departure.

Can I bring alcohol to the Maldives?

No, bringing alcohol to the Maldives is illegal.

Transportation

Is the international flight ticket included?

No, international flight ticket is not included in the price.

Will someone be collecting us from the airport to take us to the transfer?

Yes, our representative will wait for you outside the arrival hall, greet you and assist you with the transfer to the resort.

What time is the speedboat transfer?

Speedboat transfers do not have any fixed schedule. Speedboat transfers are managed by the resort and you will be transported on the first available shared speedboat transfer in connection to your international flight arrival. We will advise the resort about your flight arrival details provided in your booking reservation. Our representative will meet you outside the arrival hall and assist you with the speedboat transfer or introduce you to a resort representative who will assist you further.

Is speedboat or seaplane transfer private?

Speedboat and seaplane transfers are operated on a shared basis with other clients. Private transfer can be arranged for an additional charge. Please contact our customer service for more details.

What are the speedboat pick-up and drop-off locations?

A speedboat will pick you up in front of the arrival hall at the airport, with the assistance of our representative, and drop you off at the resort directly. On the way back, you will be picked up at the resort and dropped off in front of the airport departure hall directly.

Is the speedboat or seaplane transfer always included?

For all the resorts on our website, the transfers are always included in the rate provided and there is no additional charge for this service.

What time will be seaplane transfer? Do they have any fixed schedules?

Seaplane transfer is arranged by the resort according to your international flight arrival details provided in your booking reservation. You will be transferred on the first available shared seaplane. Our representative will meet you outside the arrival hall and assist you with luggage and seaplane check-in. Check-in for seaplanes is located very close, in the arrival hall directly. You will be transferred to the seaplane terminal by a small bus - this will take approx. 10 minutes ride and you will wait for your seaplane flight in a waiting area. Once you are boarded, a seaplane flight will take approx. 30 - 50 minutes and brings you to the resort directly.

What is the baggage allowance on a seaplane?

The standard permissible weight is 25 kg, which includes 20 kg of checked-in luggage and 5 kg of hand luggage per person. The weight for any bag should not exceed 32 kg. The per kg charge for baggage above the permissible limit is USD 5.00/- plus applicable taxes.

Will I have to wait long at the terminal for my seaplane transfer to the resort?

Seaplane company team recognizes that you may have taken a long flight to reach the beautiful Maldives and are eager to reach your luxurious resort. The operations are tuned to keep your comfort & pleasure in mind while you wait.

Apart from taking a comfortable seat and enjoying the view of our unique operations, for your comfort & entertainment, they have the following facilities at the seaplane terminal:
- TMA Food and Beverage Service
- TMA Souvenir Shop
- Board Games (pick up & play)
- Designated Smoking Area

I have heard that the luggage doesn't always go with the passenger on the same seaplane. Is that true?

On most occasions, your luggage will go along with you. However, there are very few occasions where the luggage will arrive after you have been transferred. In such cases, we will inform you before your flight departure and allow the passenger to carry necessary items from offloaded luggage (in a TMA souvenir bag). Please be assured that the luggage will be delivered to the destination on the same day.

Do infants require a separate seat on a seaplane?

Seaplane transfer infants below the age of two years, free of charge. There is no separate seat allocated for the infants due to legal requirements. Correspondingly, there is also no additional baggage allowance for the infant either.

What time does the seaplane check-in close?

Please make sure you plan to arrive in the Maldives by or before 15:00 (LT) to get through customs on time as the seaplane check-in closed at 16:15 (LT).

We will fly on a standby ticket, how does it work in case we miss our flight, we will not be accepted or our fight is canceled?

We reserve the right and we do not take any responsibility for last-minute changes, delays, cancellations, or missed flights. We recommend travelling on confirmed flight tickets.

Is it true, that seaplane cannot fly at night?

Yes, the uniqueness of flying in these conditions, landing on & taking off from water, permits seaplanes to fly only from sunrise to sunset. Seaplane company is a third-party company and operates independently according to the flying hours’ restrictions imposed by the local Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA), subject to weather conditions and daylight. They operate transfers only during daylight hours (sunrise to sunset).

Arrival: If you would like to reach your resort on the same day, please plan to arrive in the Maldives by 15:00 (LT) to get through customs on time as the seaplane check in closed at 16:15 (LT). If you are unable to find an international flight that gets you to the Maldives in time, you could also spend a night in Male or Hulhumale and see what the local life is like.

Departure: Seaplane company will take care of all guests who have their scheduled international flight departure time after 9 AM (LT).

Do you provide any discounts on airline tickets?

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide any discounts on airline tickets. We are serving exclusively airline/aviation employees who are using their internal system for staff tickets.

Travel requirements

What is the travel requirement to enter Maldives?

- The Health declaration form must be filled out and submitted within 24 hours of your departure: https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/ethd

- Effective from 14th March 2022 - All passengers traveling to the Maldives are no longer required to hold a Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate and/or a negative PCR test result upon arrival to the Maldives (Please refer to your airline for more details before departure).

Do you provide travel insurance or is it included?

No, our company does not provide travel insurance. We recommend obtaining your own travel insurance with any commercial insurance company.

What is the minimum passport validity upon arrival to the Maldives?

If entering the Maldives as a tourist, you will be granted a 30-day visa upon arrival and your passport must be valid for a minimum of one month. However, if arriving by air, most airlines state that your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into the Maldives. Please refer to your airline for more details.

Do I need a visa to enter the Maldives?

Do we require travel insurance to enter the Maldives?

No, travel insurance is only optional.

Payment

What are the methods of payment?

We accept the following methods of payment:
- Bank Transfer
- Direct ATM cash deposit to our account via RAK bank (UAE residents only) - https://rakbank.ae/wps/portal/header/atm-branches
- Online with a credit/debit card through the payment gateway (2,9% payment gateway fee applies)

Is there any additional cost or charge upon arrival to the Maldives?

No. All rates are final, inclusive of all the above services, accommodation, meal plan, taxes, charges, transfers, and local assistance services in the destination (No additional charges or fees).

How many days in advance the payment has to be made?

To confirm the booking reservation, we require payment to be credited to our bank account. To secure your booking, it is recommended to proceed with the payment at your earliest convenience.

Can I pay with foreign money in the Maldives, or do I need a credit card?

Banknotes and traveler’s cheques can be exchanged only at the Male International Airport and at the foreign exchange bureau in Malé. All major Credit cards are accepted, and you can also pay small amounts (i.e. tips to staff) in foreign currency banknotes.

Can I pay for my booking upon arrival to the resort?

No. To confirm the booking reservation payment must be settled prior to your arrival with our company. Resorts do not accept any payments upon arrival.

Are infants free of charge?

Infants up to 2 years are free of charge.

Are all taxes and fees included?

Yes, all the taxes and charges are included in the price.

Accommodation

What time is check-in?

Check-in is usually at 2 pm, however, resorts are trying to accommodate all rooms as soon as possible upon arrival. This depends on the actual occupancy and availability of the resort, in case you will have to wait for a short time, you will be entitled to all the resort facilities.

What time is the checkout?

Check-out time is noon, usually, resorts are allowed to extend for 1-2 hours. Again, this depends on actual occupancy and availability on the day. You will be entitled to use all resort facilities until your transfer departure.

What is the difference between Beach Villa/Bungalow and Water Villa/Bungalow?

-Beach Villa/Bungalow is located on the Beach.
-Water Villa/Bungalow is located over the water.

Is the villa accommodation fully private or shared with other guests?

Some resorts have villas/bungalows which are separated into two parts. Selected accommodation in these villas/bungalows is not shared with other guests. Please refer to the fact sheet of the specific resort on our website.

We are traveling with 2 children will be 2 extra beds provided in the room?

Please refer to fact sheet at each resort or contact us directly. One sofa/roll away bed is provided free of charge however second bed additional charges may apply. Also depends on the size of the room. Some of the rooms cannot fit 2 extra beds due to its size.

Food & Drink

What kind of food will be served in the resort?

Generally, all resorts offer an international kitchen with many different varieties, as well as vegetarian, vegan, and more.

What is the difference between Half Board, Full Board, and All Inclusive?

Half Board - Breakfast & Dinner (no beverages included)
Full Board - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner (no beverages included)
All Inclusive - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner (unlimited consumption of selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are included)

Does All Inclusive include alcoholic beverages as well?

Yes, All Inclusive includes unlimited consumption of selected alcoholic beverages.

Facilities

Can you arrange anything special for an anniversary or birthday?

- For birthday we will advise the resort so they can do something nice for you.
- For the anniversary resort requires a wedding certificate not older than 6 months.

Do resorts offer snorkeling equipment?

Some resorts offer snorkeling equipment free of charge and some resorts are charging for the daily rental of snorkeling equipment. Please refer to the fact sheet and meal plan description at each resort on our website.

Do you offer surfing packages?

No, we do not offer surfing packages in the Maldives.

Are resorts equipped with first aid facilities or doctors?

Yes, all our resorts have a first aid facility and a doctor (available directly at the resort or on call).

Booking

How do I modify my booking?

How do I extend my booking?

How do I know that my booking has been confirmed?

The reservation is subject to availability until the final booking confirmation is received from the resort. Once the payment is credited to our bank account you will receive an email with confirmation voucher and confirmation number.

Can I change my booking for a different resort?

Yes, as long as your booking is not within the cancelation policy of booked resort. For detailed information on cancelation policy please refer to a specific type of resort on www.maldives.ae. All the new bookings are subject to availability.

What is required to proceed with the booking?

To proceed with booking reservation, the following details are required:

- Full name of the traveling passengers
- Nationality of the traveling passengers
- Age of children (if any)
- Flight numbers and time – (arrival and departure)

Cancelation

I canceled my booking. When do I receive the refund?

A Refund for your booking will be credited back to your bank account within 7 working days.

Can I check out earlier and get a refund for the remaining days?

No, you will not be entitled to a refund as the cancellation policy will apply.

If in case our flight is overbooked, is it possible to change the dates of our booking reservation?

In case I need a visa, is your company able to help with obtaining it?

No, our company is not entitled to any visa services or procedures.
